Jack Kuenzle breaks Bob Graham Round record

British runner sets new fastest known time for Lakeland challenge

Kuenzle completed the 42-mile route in 12 hours, 56 minutes and 37 seconds, beating the previous record by almost half an hour.

The Bob Graham Round is a challenging fell running route in the Lake District, England. The route covers 42 miles and includes 27,000 feet of ascent. The record for the fastest known time (FKT) on the Bob Graham Round was previously held by Kilian Jornet, who completed the route in 12 hours, 52 minutes and 8 seconds in 2018.

Kuenzle, who is from California, USA, began his attempt on the Bob Graham Round at 4:30am on Saturday, 19th June. He ran strongly throughout the day, and reached the finish line in Keswick at 5:27pm. His time of 12 hours, 56 minutes and 37 seconds is a new FKT for the Bob Graham Round.

Kuenzle said that he was "over the moon" to have broken the record. He said: "It was a really tough day, but I'm so happy to have done it. I knew that I was close to the record, but I didn't want to push too hard and risk making a mistake." Kuenzle's record-breaking run is a testament to his fitness and determination. He is one of the world's leading ultra-runners, and his achievement is a major milestone in the history of the Bob Graham Round by nearly half an hour.

The Bob Graham Round is one of the most challenging fell running routes in the world. It is a popular challenge for experienced fell runners, and it is often used as a test of fitness and endurance.
