The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets in seven games to advance to the second round of the playoffs. The Nuggets had home-court advantage and won the first two games of the series, but the Timberwolves rallied back to win the next four.
In Game 7, Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. D'Angelo Russell added 23 points, and Anthony Edwards contributed 21 points.
The Timberwolves will now face the Memphis Grizzlies in the second round of the playoffs. The Grizzlies are the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA since the All-Star break.
